Acoustical Quality Control of Workpieces

Industrial production is always closely connected to quality control. Already in the production process it has to be guaranteed that only best quality products leave the factory. Until now, the common test scenarios for the quality of rooftiles involved a sound check which is usually done by sorters. Using the example of roofing tiles, the Fraunhofer IDMT developed a method for the automated acoustical quality testing of workpieces.

Activation of Cochlea Implants

Millions of people are handicapped by severe hearing loss or deafness. Electronic inner ear prostheses, so called cochlea implants, which substitute the function of the damaged inner ear, can improve the quality of life significantly. Thereby, the activation of the implants plays a decisive role for speech comprehension. The newly developed simulation software, based on a neurophysiological approach, achieves a better activation of electrodes for cochlea implants.

Spatial Mixing Desk

Professional audio technology requires the correct acoustic perspective of sound perception.
