Filmmakers can identify faults during production with an automatic fault identification and quality assessment system for video sequences. Scientists are also presenting automatic classification for videos at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam.

Photo Summary – The Best Pictures with a few Clicks
A gorgeous vacation is over, leaving a vast number of digital photo-graphs on the memory card. We've all seen situations like this. But who takes the effort and time to select the best shots for the family album or to create an entertaining slide show? With Photo Summary, Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT has developed a technology to simplify this selection process. Only a few clicks, and the software automatically gathers a representative selection of the best shots. At IFA 2010 in Berlin, the developers from Ilmenau present their highly innovative method.

3D sound now also present in the car – Together with the AUDI AG the Fraunhofer IDMT has presented the first prototype for a perfect realistic sound in the vehicle
A world premiere took place last Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at the AUDI plant in Ingolstadt. The Ilmenau Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology presented jointly with Audi within the framework of a journalist workshop, the first car with a completely integrated surround sound system – based on Wave Field Synthesis technology.
